The SCALE PROBE provides a simple and practical method for the accurate determination of scale build up in coal and mineral processing applications.
The SCALE PROBE is inserted into the appropriate process pipe. Scale deposition is measured before and after antiscalant dosing to prove treatment of the respective unit is both necessary and effective.
Over time scale will build up on the perforated tip.The probe is then withdrawn through the isolation ball valve. The tip is removed and analysed to accurately determine the amount of scale built up.
From this measurement an effective control philosophy can be determined for the antiscalant chemicals.
This design has the additional safety feature of a manually operated pressure relief valve. Once the tip is isolated above the main ball valve the process pressure can be released. This eliminates the possibility of the handle being unexpectedly ejected or residue slurry spraying onto the field technician.
